The route

Day by day

3 stages across 10 Days / 9 Nights. This is the route as it stands. Nights can be added in one place or a leg dropped entirely.

  1. Stop 1: Linyanti Concession

    Stage 1 of 3

    Stop 1: Linyanti Concession

The journey begins in the remote Linyanti region, a spectacular wilderness of seasonal floodplains, riverine forests and open grasslands along Botswana’s northern border. Far removed from busier safari areas, Linyanti is renowned for its remarkable elephant populations and rewarding encounters with predators and other wildlife.

Guided game drives reveal the region’s diverse habitats and the animals that depend on its waterways. Depending on the camp, activities may also include night drives, birdwatching and observing wildlife from specially positioned hides, offering opportunities to experience the bush from a different perspective.

Depending on the selected luxury package, your stay will be at a carefully selected safari camp in the Linyanti region, ranging from intimate, traditionally styled tented camps to more exclusive luxury retreats. Each offers a personal approach to hospitality, an immersive wilderness atmosphere and access to outstanding safari experiences.

What makes Linyanti truly special is its sense of remoteness, the dramatic movement of wildlife through the landscape and the opportunity to experience Botswana’s wilderness away from the more frequented safari routes.

  2. Stop 2: Northern Okavango Delta, Vumbura

    Stage 2 of 3

Stop 2: Northern Okavango Delta, Vumbura

From the remote landscapes of Linyanti, the journey continues into the northern Okavango Delta, where seasonal floodwaters transform the landscape into a beautiful mosaic of winding channels, lagoons, green islands and open grasslands. This extraordinary ecosystem supports a rich diversity of wildlife and offers a different safari experience from the drier wilderness of Linyanti.

Depending on the water levels, season and camp location, experiences may include guided game drives, mokoro excursions through tranquil channels, motorboat trips and birdwatching. The combination of land- and water-based activities provides a fascinating insight into the Delta’s interconnected habitats.

Depending on the selected luxury package, your stay will be at a selected camp in the Vumbura area, with accommodation ranging from intimate safari retreats to sophisticated luxury camps with expansive decks, beautiful views and exceptional attention to detail.

What makes this region special is its remarkable variety of experiences. One moment you may be tracking wildlife across open plains; the next, drifting quietly through the waterways as you discover the Delta’s smaller, more intimate natural wonders.

  3. Stop 3: Central Okavango Delta, Chief's Island

    Stage 3 of 3

Stop 3: Central Okavango Delta, Chief's Island

The final stop takes you to the wildlife-rich heart of the Okavango Delta, around Chief’s Island in the Moremi Game Reserve. Its fertile floodplains, grasslands and wooded areas create an exceptionally productive habitat, attracting large concentrations of wildlife and making this one of Botswana’s most celebrated safari destinations.

The focus here is on immersive wildlife encounters. Guided game drives offer opportunities to search for lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo and other iconic African species. The exact activities available depend on the camp and applicable seasonal and local conditions.

Depending on the selected luxury package, your stay will be at Wilderness Mombo or another carefully selected camp in the Chief’s Island and Moremi area. This region is known for exceptional safari guiding, elegant accommodation and a strong emphasis on wildlife. At the highest end, camps such as Mombo combine spacious private suites and attentive service with remarkable views across the surrounding wilderness.

What makes this final stop special is the intensity of the wildlife experience. After discovering Linyanti’s remote wilderness and the waterways of Vumbura, Chief’s Island provides a fitting finale focused on Botswana’s extraordinary big game.
